Byron Scott On State Of Lakers: ‘We Just Got Trust Issues’
Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers lost their 11th game of the season on Sunday night at the Staples Center with Kobe Bryant and company falling to the visiting Portland Trail Blazers.

It was more of the same for the Lakers on Sunday with the Blazers controlling the pace of the game and ultimately coming away with the 14-point win on the road.

Portland handed Los Angeles their third loss in a row and head coach Byron Scott believes the team’s problems stem from trust issues via Bill Oram of Orange County Register:

Consistency has been a major problem for the Lakers over the course of the first 13 games, especially in fourth quarters. Los Angeles has only two wins on the year thus far with only one real solid performance. The win over the Detroit Pistons was by far the best performance of the season by this Lakers squad. Bryant became a facilitator and nearly earned a triple-double.

After failing to pick up wins to start the new season, it does not get any easier for the purple and gold. Before Thanksgiving, the Lakers will travel up north to face the defending champions, Golden State Warriors, who are currently undefeated at 15-0.

After returning home on Nov. 29 against the Indiana Pacers, the Lakers will embark on an eight-game road trip that begins against the Philadelphia 76ers and ends against the Houston Rockets. With the Lakers having trust issues as Scott states, the road trip could help the team come together and be more competitive this season.
