Rookie power forward Julius Randle had a solid outing in his first preseason game for the Los Angeles Lakers, scoring 10 points and ripping down eight rebounds. Randle was active and looked fairly comfortable, but his second game went a little differently.

Head coach Byron Scott wasn’t satisfied with Randle’s performance against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday saying the following about the rookie after the game, via Bill Oram of the OC Register:

Randle had 12 and 7 but numbers don't tell the tale. B. Scott: "I thought he was lost."

Randle agreed with Scott’s comments and added he made a lot of “rookie mistakes” via LakersNation.com reporter Serena Winters:

In addition to Randle agreeing w/ Byron that he looked a little "lost," he also added that he made a lot of "rookie mistakes" today.

At 19-years-old, Randle is going to have nights like these as he tries to adjusts to the NBA level. Randle has shown signs of promise both on the boards and with his scoring ability, but he’s still got a lot of work to do in order to satisfy the demands of Scott and his coaching staff.

Randle will have a chance to redeem himself on Sunday with the Lakers going up against the Warriors once again at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.
