A good portion of the Los Angeles Lakers offseason has passed, as the NBA Draft and Summer League are over, and just about all of the big name free agents have found homes.

With less than two months until the start of Training Camp, the hype surrounding the new-look Lakers is starting to build after what is looked at as a successful offseason.

In case Lakers fans weren’t yet excited for what is to come in the upcoming season, Chris Manning of NBA2K recently released a hype video surrounding the Lakers and their rookie point guard Lonzo Ball:

The Lakers selected Ball with the No. 2 overall pick out of UCLA, and expectations were immediately high for the hometown product. He did not disappoint in the Las Vegas Summer League though, as he earned MVP honors and led the Lakers to their first every Summer League championship, although he sat out the championship game with a calf injury.

In addition to Ball, the Lakers also acquired former All-Star center Brook Lopez from the Brooklyn Nets in the trade that sent D’Angelo Russell to Brooklyn.

President of basketball operations Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka also proved their ability to convince free agents to come to Los Angeles, as they were able to sign guard Kentavius Caldwell-Pope to a one-year, $18 million deal despite him drawing interest from other teams.

With Luke Walton at the helm and Ball at point guard, the Lakers should be playing a completely different brand of basketball this season, leaving fans optimistic about what is to come in the future with this young team.
