D-Fenders News: Ryan Kelly And Elias Harris Assigned To The D-Fenders

On Thursday afternoon, rookies Ryan Kelly and Elias Harris were assigned to the Los Angeles Lakers’ D-League affiliate, the Los Angeles D-Fenders.

After making the opening day roster, both players have yet to find any minutes in head coach Mike D’Antoni’s rotation and have only appeared in two games. With the Lakers on a four-game home stand starting Friday against the Memphis Grizzles, both will have opportunities to play with the D-Fenders during their training camp.

[showhide type=”pressrelease”]EL SEGUNDO – Ryan Kelly and Elias Harris have been assigned to the Los Angeles D-Fenders from the Los Angeles Lakers, it was announced today.

Kelly, the Lakers’ second round selection in the 2013 NBA Draft, has appeared in two games this season, averaging 3.0 points and 1.0 rebounds in 3.5 minutes. A two-time captain of the Duke Blue Devils, Kelly finished his college career with averages of 7.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.06 blocks over 126 games (69 starts). During his four-year career, Duke went 111-15 with Kelly on the floor, placing him fourth all-time in school history in career winning percentage.

Harris, a Gonzaga University alum, finished fourth all-time in school history in points (1,857) and field goals (666), and second in rebounds (979). The native of Speyer, Germany has appeared for the German National Team in the 2009 European Championships and 2010 FIBA World Championships. Harris has averaged 5.5 minutes in his two appearances with the Lakers this season.[/showhide]
