On Thursday morning, Time Warner Cable SportsNet announced that it will telecast 22 Los Angeles D-Fenders home games this season. All home games will be aired on tape delay and there will be a special live broadcast on January 27 at 7 p.m. to honor the late Dr. Jerry Buss’ birthday.
With the season opener beginning on November 23, the Lakers’ D-League affiliate will take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers led by Malcolm Thomas and Jamario Moon. Current Lakers Ryan Kelly and Elias Harris will also make their debut this Saturday.

This season, Time Warner Cable SportsNet will nearly double the amount of games it will bring Los Angeles D-Fenders fans, airing every available home game on tape delay and one special live broadcast on January 27, at 7:00 p.m. that will coincide with the birthday of the late Lakers owner, Dr. Jerry Buss.
Earlier this year, the D-Fenders announced Bob MacKinnon as their new head coach along with Casey Owens and Thomas Scott as their assistant coaches. In addition, Time Warner Cable SportsNet analyst and former Lakers player Luke Walton has assumed duties as a player development coach.
The opening-day roster features former D-Fenders and NBA veterans Malcolm Thomas and Jamario Moon along with former Laker Kareem Rush. Current Lakers forwards Ryan Kelly and Elias Harris will also be with the team when they tip off on November 23rd. The veterans will join a group of exciting young players to form a talented roster for the 2013-14 season.[/showhide]
