The Los Angeles D-Fenders faced a disappointing 121-103 loss against the Texas Legends on the road this Thursday night.

The D-Fenders struggled right of the bat. In the first quarter, the team shot an unimpressive 26.1 percent from the floor and 20 percent from the three. Although they went into the second quarter trailing by nine, it looked like Los Angeles was going to turn things around. The squad shot 68 percent in all attempts, leading to a second-quarter season-high 43 points scored.

Unfortunately, this offensive fire was short lived. The D-Fenders were back to being the team they were in the first quarter shooting 36.7 percent from the field. Despite the lack of shooting production, Los Angeles moved into the fourth quarter trailing only by six points. Poor defense caused the D-Fenders fall as they allowed Texas to go on an 11-0 run increasing their lead to 17 points. In this frustrating loss, the team scored a second-half season-low 38 points.

Manny Harris and Terrence Williams, the usual scoring leaders, lead the team with 29 points and 18 points respectively. Thursday also marked Xavier Henry’s first game back in the D-League as he is trying to rehab his right knee that has kept giving him problems since December. Henry had 15 points and 4 steals, and teammate Josh Magette had 12 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.

The D-Fenders have a shot at redemption as they face the Legends in Texas again on Saturday, March 1 in Frisco, Texas.
