David Stern, Jim Rome Draft Lottery Argument Gets Heated

People have been asking about the NBA Draft lottery and possible conspiracies regarding its legitimacy for years. After the New Orleans Hornets won the lottery this season, and the Cleveland Cavaliers the season before, many felt that the league office was rigging the lottery in favor of helping out certain franchises.

While the notion of lottery rigging is a bit ridiculous, that didn’t stop hard-nosed radio host Jim Rome from asking Commissioner David Stern about it on his daily radio show on Wednesday.

Rome asked Stern about the possibility of a lottery fix, to which Stern replied, “Have you stopped beating your wife yet?” Stern wasn’t implying that Rome is a domestic abuser, just trying to point out the inaccuracies of the question he asked.

From there things got a bit heated, as Stern called out Rome’s methods and indicated that he was going to talk to someone more important, such as Stephen A. Smith.

Here’s the complete audio of the interview.
