Longtime Lakers trainer Gary Vitti is entering his 29th season and throughout this time, he has had the opportunity to work with the greatest Lakers players of all time. However, he recently explained in an interview with Lakers.com’s Mike Trudell the five things that make Kobe Bryant the player he is:

  • Extreme athleticism
  • Extreme talent
  • Outworks everybody
  • Incredible toughness
  • Intellectual brilliance

Bryant has shown the tenacity and will to win. After all, he wouldn’t have five championships without the grit he’s shown throughout his career. After playing all but six games last season it’s certain that Kobe will come back stronger than ever.

In addition, Vitti talked about Kobe’s chances of staying healthy by saying:

I have 100 percent confidence that he’ll be healthy because of the way he handles his body and the style of play that we’ll compete at.

Kobe and his work ethic have been talked about as being extremely demanding, but after a season to recover and recuperate, his resiliency will allow for Bryant to comeback in top form. With the Lakers rumored to begin the 2014-15 season against the Houston Rockets, it will be an exciting time for fans as the five-time champion returns.
