Today, August 14, is Earvin “Magic” Johnson’s birthday and we here at Lakers Nation send our best wishes.
Johnson is arguably the greatest point guard this game has ever seen and many people still consider him as the best player to ever suit up for the Lakers.
In his time in Los Angeles, Johnson won five NBA championships and helped raise the popularity of the league.
Johnson was no doubt the most popular player in the NBA during his tenure and he was both a star on and off the court. Not only was the point guard lethal when in jersey, but his various sponsorships and commercials made him a recognizable face.
Magic is now an analyst for ESPN/ABC and owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers of the MLB.
