Today is the 58th birthday of Los Angeles Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak, and we here at Lakers Nation would like to send our best wishes.
Although Kupchak is now responsible for putting a championship team together in Los Angeles, he was once a player and suited up for this very team.
Kupchak worked alongside Magic Johnson and helped the Lakers in the 1985 NBA title. Although Kupchak was not the star of the team, he provided the squad with the intangibles and was respected in the locker-room.
In the present, Kupchak must make major changes to this Lakers roster and help them return the Finals. Two early playoff exits are not acceptable, and he has to make sure this off-season is a productive one.
