Happy Birthday Lakers’ Assistant Coach Brian Shaw

Former Laker G and current Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw is celebrating his 45th birthday today. Shaw spent 1999-2003 with the Lakers, and won three NBA Finals championships while there. Shaw was a reserve guard on those Lakers teams, but still played a big role in each of their championship victories.

Currently Shaw is one of the top assistant coaches under Phil Jackson, and has been listed as one of the top choices to replace Jackson if he retires following this season. Shaw has been mentioned along with fellow former Laker Byron Scott, as well as former Knicks head coach and current NBA analyst for ABC, Jeff Van Gundy.
