Is Ron Artest Giving Away His Salary?

The wacky world of Ron Artest continues as a new report states that the Lakers forward is considering giving away his entire salary next season. He announced that he is considering donating half – or perhaps all – of his 2011-2012 salary to charity.

For those who don’t know exactly what that means for Artest, it means that the $6.97 million he is set to earn next year could be donated. While it is obvious for a fantastic cause, questions are still circling Artest and the decision. Remember, this is the same Laker who is auctioning off his first and so far only NBA championship ring only to donate the proceeds to charity.

So, is Ron Artest just a remarkable humanitarian or remarkably nuts? Well, for now I think the correct answer is yes.
