Jeanie Buss on Lakers Owner Jerry Buss’ Health: ‘Doing Very Well’

Over the past year or so, Los Angeles Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss has dealt with multiple medical problems and has been admitted to the hospital on more than one occasion. The most recent incident happened a few weeks ago with Dr. Buss undergoing an undisclosed surgical procedure. The surgery was deemed successful, but the nature of the surgery or how severe the situation may have been remains undisclosed.

Regardless of the secrecy surrounding Buss’ latest procedure, Lakers Executive and daughter Jeanie Buss claims her father is getting back on track in the health department and is excited for the upcoming season via Twitter:

For all those who asked, Dr. Buss is doing really well, even spending time visiting with Kobe yesterday. My dad’s pumped for #Lakers season!

— Jeanie Buss (@JeanieBuss) August 22, 2012

During his time as the owner of the Lakers, Buss has been helped bring 10 NBA titles to Los Angeles since 1979. Dr. Buss is without a doubt one of the most successful owners in professional sports today with an unbridled passion for winning and doing it style.

Even though he’s basically handed the franchise over to his son, Jim Buss, the longtime owner continues to play a major role within the Lakers organization.

With the additions of Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, Antawn Jamison and Jodie Meeks, the future looks bright in Los Angeles once again with the Lakers becoming perennial NBA title contenders for the foreseeable future.

The question still remains whether or not this new combination of superstars surrounding Kobe Bryant can truly coexist, but the Buss family has done everything within their to hang a few more championship banners at the Staples Center in the twilight of Kobe’s career.

The tradition of winning and building dynasties continues in Los Angeles with Dr. Buss and company making it that much more exciting to be a Lakers fan with a few more championship runs potentially down the road.

All of us here at Lakers Nation wish Dr. Jerry Buss a continued speedy recovery as we prepare for another epic season of Lakers basketball.
