The Los Angeles Lakers could not continue their two game winning streak and suffered their first loss of the season against the Eastern Conference Wednesday night. Los Angeles played their second night of a back-to-back in Washington and despite their solid play in the first half, they could not contain the Wizards and eventually lost, 111-95.

None of the Lakers’ starters had a positive plus/minus and the balanced team effort that was present during the last two games was nonexistent. Kobe Bryant finished the game with 29 points and three assists, whereas his backcourt partner Jeremy Lin shot 0-10 from the field with four turnovers.

After the game, Lin spoke to the media and told reporters that he is looking forward to seeing how the Lakers bounce back on Friday viaLakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

The Lakers now stand at 5-14 and will be back on the court Friday night against the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are another historical franchise struggling to win games as they have just five on the season. However, whenever these two teams meet on the court, they can pretty much throw away the records as pride is the main thing in play.

Even though Los Angeles has not had a lot of success thus far in 2014-15, a win versus their rivals will be a cause for celebration. There isn’t much to be happy about with the Lakers, but there is no better feeling than walking off the court in Boston with a victory.
