The Los Angeles Lakers have a nice blend of veteran and young players on the roster, with Jordan Clarkson being the most promising. Clarkson has emerged as one of the best rookies in the league and coach Byron Scott believes he can one day develop into an NBA All-Star.

With this season having no realistic goals other than staying respectable in the conference, the coaching staff is honed in on evaluating talent for next season. There are many young players across the league looking for a chance, and the front office decided recently to give Jabari Brown a shot in showcasing his skills.

Thus far, Brown has been a great addition to the Lakers’ roster and his chemistry with Clarkson make those two very lethal while on the court. Brown and Clarkson shared a backcourt at the University of Missouri, and Clarkson talked about what it means to reunite in Los Angeles, via Lakers Nation senior writer Ryan Ward:

Clarkson on Brown: ”Last game it felt like a college game having him out there running w/ me. It’s good, it’s a blessing.” #Lakers

This season, Clarkson has averaged 10.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game, but those numbers are a bit skewed as he began to see consistent minutes in the second half of the season. As for Brown, he has impressed the coaching staff with his energy and effort, with his best game coming against the Philadelphia 76ers when he dropped 22 points.

Lakers fans have not had a lot to cheer for this season, but the growth of Jordan Clarkson has definitely been a bright spot. The rookie is coming off a near triple-double against the Pelicans and there is no reason why he will not be part of the Lakers future once Kobe Bryant retires.
