NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Orlando MagicThe Los Angeles Lakers’ fourth quarter rally fell short Tuesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies, and the team now stands at a disappointing 1-6. Los Angeles trailed by double-digits in the fourth quarter, but in the final seconds, Jeremy Lin opted to pass the ball to Jordan Hill instead of Kobe Bryant with the team down just three.

After the game, Bryant pointed to miscommunication for the mishap and accepted the move as a result of Lin still trying to get familiar with the system. However, there were many positive things to take away from the loss and after the game, Jordan Hill said he believes the team can compete with anyone if they keep up that level of play via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

The Lakers have a tough match coming up on Wednesday when the team plays the New Orleans Pelicans. Bryant already voiced his admiration for Anthony Davis and the Lakers’ big men will have trouble trying to contain his energy and effort.

Nevertheless, Los Angeles is staying in striking distance against even the toughest opponents in the Western Conference and it is improving on a nightly basis. Although cracking the top eight in the conference will be a tough task, the Lakers will be getting some of their regular rotational players back and if they click at the right time, this team may not be as bad as many people are predicting.
