Kobe Bryant and the Lakers Win Big at Cartoon Network’s Hall of Fame Game

Late last week at the first ever Cartoon Network Hall of Fame Game Awards several Lakers were celebrated for their excellence on the court. The awards were hosted by skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, and were held last Friday, February 25th, on Cartoon Network.

Over 37 million fans participated in the online voting at www.HallofGame.com for their favorite athletes, teams and sporting moments over the last year. Fans have also been able to interact with the awards through the Hall of Game App, which is free to download through the iTunes store.

While there were many other professional athletes nominated, such as Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic and Drew Brees of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints, it was the Lakers who took home the award of the night.

After all the individual awards were received, including one for Kobe Bryant, who won the award for ‘King of the Court,’ Cartoon Network honored the best team of the year – the Los Angeles Lakers.

The first ever ‘We Got Game’ award was given to the best team of the year, and this year that was the Los Angeles Lakers. After the Lakers won their second consecutive NBA championship, this time over their arch-rivals the Boston Celtics, the Lakers regained their place on the NBA throne.
