Before the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Chicago Bulls on Monday night, Kobe Bryant spoke to the media about numerous topics, including his return timetable. Since sustaining the injury against the Memphis Grizzlies, Bryant was expected to be out at least six weeks and re-evaluated on Jan. 28.

However, it was revealed recently that the re-evaluation would be pushed back to February. When asked about his return timetable, Bryant said the following according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Since Bryant’s injury, the Lakers have struggled tremendously until their recent road victories against the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors. While many have suggested that the five-time champion should sit out the rest of the season, Bryant says he will return regardless of what the team’s record is.

While Bryant is unable to run, he has been doing a lot of bike work in order to maintain his conditioning for his next return. Before his first return against the Toronto Raptors, Bryant informed the media that he was out of shape.

With Bryant likely returning in time for this year’s All-Star Game, he reiterated once again that he’d like to see the younger players participate. However, fans continue to vote for him as All-Star voting ends on Monday night and he will likely be named a starter.
