Kobe Bryant Likely To Have Signed Last Contract With Lakers

Kobe Bryant signed a two-year contract extension on Monday, meaning once that deal expires, he will have spent 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bryant is currently 35-years-old and it is all but certain that this latest contract will be the last one of his career. Before the Lakers’ game against the Washington Wizards, Bryant spoke to the media and talked about his recent contract. He was asked if this deal would be the last one of his career and Bryant responded, “probably.”

The Lakers agreed to a $48.5 million deal with Bryant and it does indeed put a dent into their cap space for the near future. However, after all that Bryant has done for the city and the franchise, he deserves a big check before he calls it quits on an amazing basketball career.

There have been rumors that the Lakers will try to go after a high profile free agent this summer. Players like Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James can be potential free agents and if the Lakers can manage to sign one of them, title number 17 will be in sight.
