USATSI_8200655_154224518_lowresThe Los Angeles Lakers got their second win of the season Tuesday night after defeating a talented Atlanta Hawks squad, 114-109. Kobe Bryant eclipsed the 32,000 point plateau during the night and finished the game with 28 points on an impressive 10-18 shooting.

Overall, the Lakers played very well and the offense was not Kobe-heavy like it was Sunday night when he attempted 34 shots. Bryant was lambasted by the media for the excessive ball control, but after the Hawks game, he spoke to the media and voiced his opinion on those who still doubt him at this stage of his career via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

There has been a lot of criticism directed towards Kobe this season and many are complaining about the number of shots he has been taking. Bryant recently became the NBA record holder for most total career field goal misses and that prompted heavy backlash to someone that has been labeled a “ballhog.”

However, with a roster that struggles at times on the offensive end, it should not be shocking to see Bryant put up big numbers. Even at the age of 36, Kobe is able to create his own shot and that is something the other players on the team have a tough time doing. Luckily for the coaching staff, the return of Nick Young will take some of the load off of Kobe’s shoulders and give them another option on that end of the court.
