Kobe Bryant Points To Effort and Toughness In Win Over Memphis

Kobe Bryant 14The Los Angeles Lakers got a much needed victory Tuesday night over the shorthanded Memphis Grizzlies. After falling short to the Atlanta Hawks the night before, the Lakers stand at 12-13 after the win in Memphis.

Even though it was not the cleanest game the Lakers have played, they escaped with a win thanks to great fourth quarter execution. Los Angeles did not come out with a lot of energy against the Hawks, but that was not the case Tuesday night.

After the game, Kobe Bryant spoke to the media and talked about what he thought were the keys to the team’s victory. Kobe pointed to the effort and toughness the players showed throughout the game, two things that were needed against a strong opponent.

Kobe says the difference tonight is that they were more “assertive” and “aggressive.”

The team will be facing the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday for a chance to back get to .500. Since Bryant’s return, the Lakers have struggled on the offensive end, but a lot of that is due to the fact that the team has no healthy point guard. Kobe has become the primary playmaker and he will have his hands full containing Ricky Rubio on Friday night.
