The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off a second straight win with an impressive victory over the Detroit Pistons in the first game of a three-game road trip.

Kobe Bryant was able to get his teammates involved once again on Tuesday with a game-high 13 assists. Unfortunately, despite the high assist total and 12 points, Bryant turned the ball over 10 times.

The five-time NBA champion spoke to the media after the game and talked about getting his teammates more involved. Although Bryant has improved his play in terms of making an effort to be a facilitator, Kobe admitted that he wouldn’t be a great quarterback.

Even though Kobe admits he wouldn’t be a great quarterback, the future Hall of Famer knows what kind of player he’d be like if he were, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Kobe said if he were a quarterback he'd be more like Tom Brady: "They don't run their routes, they're going to know about it." (on TWC)

In the last two games, both of which resulted in a wins for the Lakers, Kobe has dished out 12 assists or more. Bryant had 12 against the Eastern Conference-leading Toronto Raptors on Sunday in the final matchup of a four-game homestand and a season-high 13 in the win over the Pistons on Tuesday.

With the Lakers winning the last two games, Bryant taking more of a facilitator role might become common place. Kobe seems to greatly improve the team’s chances to come out with wins when he’s getting his teammates involved.

As long as Kobe’s teammates continue to knock down shots and finish at the rim, Bryant may keep this trend going. Even though Bryant didn’t shoot well going 4-for-11 from the floor and turned the ball over 10 times, the team appears much improved with the face of the franchise using this style of play.
