After going through a rough season, the Los Angeles Lakers are trying to turn things around this year, and have begun that process by bringing in some new talent this off-season.

One of the biggest acquisitions was point guard Jeremy Lin, acquired in a trade with the Houston Rockets. Lin has already been in contact with Kobe Bryant who had a very specific message for the new Laker according to our own Serena Winters:

Kobe's message to Jeremy Lin: "We have a lot of work to do."

It seems as if Kobe isn’t only working on himself, but making sure all of his teammates are ready when training camp roles around as well. Nick Young said that Kobe sent him a similar message after learning about him re-signing with the Lakers.

For Lin, playing with Kobe will be a new experience. Though he has played with numerous other stars in the league, he is looking forward to learning from Kobe according to the LA Daily News’ Mark Medina:

Jeremy Lin on playing with Kobe: "I had the opportunity to play with Carmelo, James Harden and Kobe. I can learn a lot from him."

— Mark Medina (@MarkG_Medina) July 24, 2014

With questions surrounding Steve Nash, it is very likely that Lin could see himself next to Kobe Bryant in the Lakers starting lineup next season.

The backcourt was ravaged by injuries the last two seasons, but if they can stay healthy, Lin and Kobe could definitely do some damage together.
