As Kobe Bryant enters the 20th year of his NBA career donning the purple and gold, a new era of Lakers basketball in Los Angeles is about to begin.

— What will Kobe Bryant make this season? Find out here! —

At the Harold & Carole Pump Foundation’s 15th annual gala, NBA legends like Dr. J (Julius Erving), Norm Nixon and Jamaal Wilkes reflected on Bryant’s incredible career and what they hope to see from him in what could be his last season.

“He’s done as much as anybody that’s ever played the game, and he’s as good as anybody that’s ever played the game,” complimented Dr. J, who was teammates with Bryant’s father in Philadelphia when Kobe was born.

“One of the greatest, one of the most competitive athletes to ever play,” said Lakers two-time NBA champion, Norm Nixon.

“First of all, I hope the city thanks him, the NBA thanks him just for an exceptional, brilliant career,” said Hall of Famer and four-time NBA champion, Jamaal Wilkes.

Plus, Kurt Rambis chimes in on what he hopes Bryant can teach the younger generation and Steve Nash explains why he thinks the young backcourt could be an exciting and fascinating future for Los Angeles.
