Kobe on Ex-Rutgers Coach: “I Woulda Smacked The Hell Out Of Him”

Kobe Bryant Lakers PracticeThe recent dismissal of Rutgers basketball coach Mike Rice has stirred quite a bit of controversy since the news broke last week. The revelation that Rice hit, verbally berated and threw equipment at his players quickly earned him a ticket out the door.

Last week, a man who knows a thing or two about coaching, Phil Jackson, shared his thoughts on the situation through his newly created Twitter account.

Now, Kobe Bryant has give his thoughts on Rice and what his response would be if a coach treated him that way.

In a recent interview on Jim Rome’s Showtime show (h/t TMZ.com), Bryant didn’t shy away from what he would do to Rice.

“I woulda smacked the hell out of him. No question about it.”

Well, that pretty much sums that up.

So, if you ever get the privilege of coaching Kobe Bryant at some point in your life, don’t throw anything at him or hit him. It will end poorly for you.

Bryant and the Lakers will be in action Wednesday night when they face the Trail Blazers up in Portland.
