Kobe On Nick Young: ‘When He’s On The Court, He’s Working’

One of the more interesting subplots of this Lakers season will be the interaction between Kobe Bryant and Nick Young. Young showed flashes of potential last season, but now he will spend a lot of time on the court with Kobe, something he didn’t have to do last season.

At media day yesterday, Young said that he and Kobe will work together great and today Kobe extended some praise towards Young after the Lakers first practice of training camp via Lakers Nation’s Serena Winters:

Bryant seems to have taken towards Young. He obviously sees a lot of potential in him and Young is eager to learn from him. Some worried that Young’s smiling, happy personality may not mesh well with Kobe, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Kobe seems fine with the ‘Swaggy P’ side of Nick Young coming out as long it’s all business on the court and Young has shown plenty of passion on the court. Young does not accept losing and is always looking to get better, something that Kobe loves to see.

The two of them working together can only benefit them both. With Kobe and Young playing to their potential, the Lakers will have one of the most dynamic scoring wing combinations in the league.
