Portland Trail Blazers v Los Angeles LakersA few months back, there was a heated dispute between Kobe Bryant and his mother about the proposed auction of some of the memorabilia that Bryant had collected and left at his parents’ house over the years. Bryant’s mother, Pam, wanted to auction off some of his things to buy a new house in Las Vegas. Kobe originally ordered a cease and desist order against his parents and the auction.

The two sides agreed on removing some of the items off of the auction and pushing the auction date back a month with his parents apologizing for trying to auction his things off without his permission.

When the date was set for the auction, the original price for the championship rings started at $35,000 — which ended up only being a small portion of what bidders actually payed.

The two rings for auction were replicas of his 2000 championship ring made for each of his parents. 2000 was the first of Kobe’s five championships and one of the most rare pieces of Bryant memorabilia a collector could come across. There were two sizes — one for his father which was the same size that Bryant wore, 11 1/2, and one for his mother, which was a bit smaller.

According to CBS Sports, the Larger ring sold for $174,184 while the smaller ring was sold for $108,153. There were also a couple of Bryant high school jerseys that sold for $40,000 each at the auction.
