L.A. City Council Names Wednesday “Dwight Howard Day”

Dwight Howard has played eight games for the Los Angeles Lakers, but he has already left mark on the franchise and the city.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Los Angeles City Council has named Nov. 14, 2012 “Dwight Howard Day.” Howard has done wonders so far for the Lakers and his off the court activities has helped the lives of many. Not only is Howard the best center in the NBA, but he is also someone who takes great pride in assisting others.

According to the City Council, Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, has been declared “Dwight Howard Day.”

Council members Bernard C. Parks and Jan Perry put forward the motion in Wednesday morning’s City Council meeting.

The Lakers are very fortunate to have Howard on the roster and he is a player with amazing potential. Howard is only going to get better and the franchise has a great center piece to use once Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol leave. In addition, his positive attitude and upbeat demeanor makes him the perfect person to be the face of the team in the near future.

Howard will head over to City Hall at 5 p.m. to receive the honor.
