Lakers Draft News: Josh Jackson’s Agent Says ‘too Early’ To Tell If L.a. Will Select His Client

There has been a ton of rumors surrounding who the Los Angeles Lakers will take with the second overall pick in next week’s NBA Draft. It will seemingly come down to Kansas’ Josh Jackson, UCLA’s Lonzo Ball, and Kentucky’s De’Aaron Fox.

The Lakers got a close look at Ball last week while De’Aaron Fox worked out for them today. The front office contingent also traveled to Sacramento last week to get a look at Jackson, but apparently they want to see more.

According to Lakers Nation’s Ryan Ward, the Lakers will be bringing in Jackson for another workout at the practice facility later today:

Bringing in a prospect for a second workout is pretty common. The Lakers did the same thing two years ago when both D’Angelo Russell and Jahlil Okafor came in twice.

This is likely a little different as even though the Lakers got to watch Jackson in a private setting, it was his agency who controlled the workout setting and what he did.

The Lakers probably want to run Jackson through their own set of drills to see how he responds. An agency will put their client through drills to make him look as good as possible while a team has their own idea of what they want to see.

Jackson is the one forward who is in the mix with the Lakers for this draft pick and is widely viewed as the best two-way player in the draft. He is an excellent perimeter defender and can create for himself and others, but has a big question mark in the form of his shooting.

In his lone season at Kansas JAckson averaged 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.1 blocks.
