Lakers Draft Workouts: Greene, Newbill, Hilliard, Gray, Atkins

The Los Angeles Lakers continued their draft workouts on Saturday morning for their late first round and early second round picks with Phil Greene, D.J. Newbill, Michael Qualls, Darrun Hilliard, Kendall Gray, Darion Atkins. Unfortunately, a knee injury kept Qualls from participating in the workout.

Greene is a 6’2″ guard who played all four years at St. John’s in New York, leading them to the NCAA Tournament as a senior. Newbill, a 6’4″ senior guard out of Penn State was a two-time All-Big Ten Second Team selection in 2014 and 2015. Hilliard, a 6’6″ guard/forward out of Villanova received multiple accolades as a senior, including First Team All-BIG EAST and Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Year.

Gray, most know for his 33 points and 30 rebounds game at Delaware State (the first D-1 player with a 30/30 game since the 1970’s), is a 6’10” power forward. Atkins (6’8″ forward) spent all four years at Virginia and was named Lefty Driesell National Defensive Player of the Year. Check out all of their interviews below.
