What kid wouldn’t want to sled down a hill or throw snowballs with their favorite Los Angeles Lakers? That’s exactly what 100 kids from L.A.’s Best, an after-school education and recreation program, did at the 2016 Lakers Holiday party at the Gordon Clubhouse in El Segundo.

Metta World Peace and Jordan Clarkson took turns making snowballs with the kids while Nick Young was the first to jump on the sled and ride it down the 15 tons of man-made snow outside. Rookie Brandon Ingram put on the Santa Claus hat and took pictures in Santa’s chair, while Larry Nance Jr. took over the foosball table.

D’Angelo Russell found himself shooting hoops at the pop-a-shot table, and Jose Calderon and Luol Deng helped serve lunch to the kids. After all the fun outside, everyone went back in to decorate gingerbread cookies.

Watch our video above to see how all the Lakers had fun partaking in the action!

LA’s BEST was created in 1988 by Mayor Tom Bradley to address an alarming rise in the lack of adequate adult supervision of children during the critical hours between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. They serve over 25,000 kids at 193 elementary school sites in Los Angeles in neighborhoods most vulnerable to gangs, drugs, crime and at schools with the lowest student test scores.
