Lakers Looking to Trade for Anderson Varejao?

According to Cleveland Cavaliers writer Sam Amico the Lakers may be interested in bringing in Anderson Varejao, the energetic forward.

Rumor has it that new Los Angeles coach Mike Brown has asked the Lakers front office to check into Varejao’s availability.

Odds are the Lakers will be looking to add Varejao as well as Cleveland’s fourth overall pick in the draft, presumably sending Lamar Odom back to Cleveland in return. Another name swirling around has been Pau Gasol, who has found himself at the center of the rumor mill during the past week.

However, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo the Lakers have publicly stated they don’t intend on trading Gasol (or Andrew Bynum) before the draft.

Since the draft is set to take place tomorrow night the trade would have to go down before then in order for the Lakers to get the pick they want.
