Lakers Nation Reacts: Who Will Represent The Western Conference?

With the Western Conference Finals underway, we asked Lakers Nation who would represent the west in the Finals, the Memphis Grizzlies or San Antonio Spurs.

Memphis got to the WCF after beating the Clippers and Thunder, while the Spurs defeated the Lakers and Warriors, and they’re both just four wins away from reaching the NBA Finals.

We asked which team will win the series, and it seems like everyone is picking one team:

In our poll, 86 percent believe the Grizzlies will advance to the NBA Finals after they took out top seeded Oklahoma City in the previous round. Led by Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, the Grizzlies have used their stifling defense and grinding offense to become the favorite in the series.

The Spurs have been almost as impressive as the Grizzlies as Tim Duncan has shown that age is just a number to him. While Manu Ginobili has struggled, Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green have become household names with their impressive run in the playoffs.

Most people believe the Grizzlies pose the biggest threat to the defending champions, the Miami Heat, assuming they get past the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

While some didn’t understand why they traded Rudy Gay midway through the season, the Grizzlies have the NBA’ best record since they traded him to Toronto on January 31.

Regardless, the series should be exciting as by in large the NBA playoffs have disappointed, but the Grizzlies and Spurs could become an instant classic if both teams stars and role players come to play.
