Entering the 2013-14 season, most media outlets had the Lakers not making the playoffs. With Kobe Bryant still recovering from an Achilles rupture and most of the team on one-year deals, it was hard to argue against these pre-season predictions.

However, on opening day, the Lakers had an impressive 116-103 victory over the Clippers. Not only did they beat the Clippers, but the Lakers ended up going 10-9 without Kobe Bryant and remained in the playoff picture.

With the return of Bryant against the Toronto Raptors, there was excitement that this team would compete for a playoff spot in the Western Conference and as a result, exceed expectations. Unfortunately, the five-time champion suffered a knee fracture six games into his return and more injuries quickly followed.

While the Lakers are headed to the lottery for the first time since 2005, one thing has remained constant: the loyal Laker fans around the world.

This has been the most difficult season in recent memory, but as all Laker fans know, we’ll find a way to get back on top of that mountain. With the deepest draft since 2003 and ample cap room this summer, the Lakers will be back and the fans will be there every step of the way.
