Lakers Nation Week In Review: Aug. 3- Aug. 10

Although the Lakers will be going into the season with lower expectations, the team is still a marquee franchise and will be playing on the league’s biggest days.

The new season will tip off on Oct. 29, and the Lakers will be one of the few teams suiting up on that night. At this point it is unclear whether or not Kobe Bryant will play, but regardless, fans will get to see the Battle of L.A. between the Lakers and Clippers.

It was a busy week at Lakers Nation, and here is a look back.

Lakers Nation News: 

Kobe Bryant showed off his Achilles scar while touring China with Nike.

Mike D’Antoni values Pau Gasol’s voice in the locker room.

The Lakers have expressed interest in Anthony Tolliver.

Jeanie Buss said the Lakers lost the best closer in Jerry Buss. 

The Lakers will play a memorial game for Dr. Buss on Jan. 28.

Los Angeles and Golden State will play exhibition games in China. 

The Lakers will play in 29 nationally televised games in the 2013-14 season.

Here is a breakdown of the Lakers’ season schedule. 

Mark Madsen said he was a better player because of Kobe Bryant.

Bryant has “shattered” the recovery timetable for his injury. 

Kurt Rambis would like the Lakers to use their size as an advantage.

Pau Gasol wants to remain with the Lakers once his contract expires.
