Lakers Nation Week in Review: Jul. 13.- Jul. 20

iThe Los Angeles Lakers conducted a string of introductory press conferences this week as the roster is beginning to finalize. After losing out on Dwight Howard, the front office has done a solid job getting a talented roster in store for next season.

As part of their Plan B, the Lakers have signed Nick Young, Chris Kaman, Jordan Farmar and Wesley Johnson. Even though these are not big name players, they will make key contributions to the team.

Along with the free agent signings, it was a news filled week, and here is a look back.

Lakers Nation News: 

Lakers invited Shawne Williams to training camp. 

Kobe Bryant sent a welcome back text to Jordan Farmar.

Farmar said his emphasis will be on defense this upcoming season. 

Wes Johnson calls 2013-14 his most important season.

Andrew Wiggins picked Kobe Bryant as they player he wants to play one-on-one. 

Jim Buss expects to see Bryant on the court for the start of the season.

Johnson said its a dream come true to play in L.A.

Kobe’s 2000 Championship Ring is being auctioned.

Mike D’Antoni believes Howard never accepted his role. 

The Lakers and Kurt Rambis are inching closer to a deal.

Chris Kaman says he can play at an All-Star level.

Rapper Nelly criticized Kobe on television.

Nick Young’s contract is for the duration of two seasons. 

Forbes ranked the Lakers the 31st most valuable franchise.

D’Antoni talked about using the amnesty provision on Metta World Peace.
