tumblr_lwij92di971qm9rypo1_1280The NBA offseason has officially begun after the Miami Heat beat the San Antonio Spurs in Game 7 of the Finals Thursday night. The Heat have successfully defended their title and will be looking to become the first team to three-peat since the Lakers did it between 2000-2002.

The Heat have proven to be one of the best teams in recent memory, and everyone will be looking to once again dethrone the champions next season. The Lakers franchise is one that is never content with a first round exit and as the summer is upon us, the Lakers will be looking to find ways to raise another banner.

Lakers Nation News:

Kobe Bryant is now walking without his boot.

Bryant trended world wide on Twitter after the NBA’s Game 7.

Mitch Kupchak spoke about Howard’s future with the Lakers.

Phil Jackson is starting to take a consultant role with the Lakers.

Kobe Bryant looks for a return in either November or December.

Dwight Howard refused to watch the NBA Finals.

Bryant was not picking sides in the Finals.

Kobe picked his all-time starting five.

Marcus Landry is expected to join the Lakers’ Summer League team.

World Peace said Howard will not go to the Rockets.

The Lakers hired Larry Lewis as Player Development coach.

The Lakers-Clippers trade talks are essentially over.

The Rockets may offer Lin and Asik this summer for Howard.

Los Angeles may keep the team in tact even if Howard leaves.
