Lakers Nation Week in Review: Sept. 7- Sept. 14

klayanklesThe Los Angeles Lakers are finalizing their roster by adding role players in hopes of making a push for the postseason. Although the front office will not be making any major changes for this upcoming season, they have been active in getting together a talented bench.

With additions like Shawne Williams and Xavier Henry, the Lakers’ second unit is far better than the one they had last year. The team is still fairly old and with the uncertainty of Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles can use all the young legs it can get.

As the Lakers are putting the final touches on their training camp roster, which begins at the end of the month, Lakers Nation looks back on the week’s news in Lakerland.

NBA 2K14 released some of the player ratings for the new game. 

Jordan Farmar said playing with Kobe Bryant is a “blessing.”

Farmar is hoping to learn as much as he can from Nash and D’Antoni. 

Carmelo Anthony does not plan on leaving the Knicks.

The Lakers do not believe the can bring in LeBron James. 

Dr. Jerry Buss wanted to hire D’Antoni.

Kobe Bryant is not sure if he’ll be ready for the season opener. 

The Buss family will executive produce a Showtime series.

Gary Payton was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. 

Pau Gasol, Madrid lost the bid for the 2020 Summer Olympics.
