Lakers Nation Wishes A Happy 52nd Birthday To Jeanie Buss

Jeanie Buss and Phil JacksonToday, September 26, is Jeanie Buss’ 52nd birthday, and Lakers Nation would love to send birthday wishes to the long-time partial owner of the Lakers and their current vice president of business operations. Jeanie was born in 1961 in Santa Monica where she and three other children would be raised by her Joann and Jerry Buss.

As a young teen Jeanie would be exposed the business of sports, as she would sit in World Team Tennis meetings with her father. It would become apparent to her at an early age that her purpose in life was to be active in sports business, so she would pursue that. Jeanie attended college at the University of Southern California (USC), where she would major in business and graduate with honors.

In 1999, the late Dr. Buss would appoint Jeanie as executive vice president of business operations. In that same year she would also start dating former Lakers head coach Phil Jackson. In January of 2013, the couple would announce their official engagement.

Jeanie has done such a phenomenal job in her work with the Lakers. Her efforts to continue to uphold the standard that her father set is greatly appreciated and Lakers Nation is grateful for that!

Happy Birthday, Jeanie!
