Lakers Nation Wishes Happy Birthday To Chick Hearn

Today, November 27th, is the 96th birthday of the late, great Los Angeles Lakers broadcaster Chick Hearn.

Hearn spent 42 seasons broadcasting for the Lakers and made phrases like “slam dunk” and “airball” famous in the industry. Hearn passed away on Aug. 5, 2002, and he left behind an untouchable legacy.

Hearn covered many of the great Los Angeles Lakers teams including those led by Jerry West, Magic Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal. Even Kobe Bryant had the privilege to speak to the great Chick Hearn, a legend in the broadcasting world.

Sadly, Chick Hearn cannot be here today to see this talented Lakers team, but he will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Happy birthday, Chick!

In honor of Chick’s birthday, we’re offering a 1-day sale on our Chick Hearn t-shirts over at the Lakers Nation store. Be sure to check them out!
