After an off-season full of question marks, the Lakers were able to split their first four games this past week. With an impressive victory against the Clippers and a embarrassing loss against the Warriors, Lakers fans now have an idea of what to expect the rest of the season.
With Mike D’Antoni implementing an 11-man rotation, the Lakers are starting to find the right combination of players that will help them win games. In last night’s victory over the Hawks, Xavier Henry started at small forward while Nick Young came off the bench. It was the right call as Henry provided energy to the frontcourt while Young was able to focus on being the number one option off the bench. However, the Lakers couldn’t have won the game if it wasn’t for Jordan Hill’s energy on the boards.
This week, the Lakers are on the road as they face the Mavericks, Rockets, and Pelicans. In order to have a successful trip, the Lakers will need to limit their turnovers and play with good energy against three playoff-caliber teams.
