Not a whole lot is going on with the Purple and Gold these days; with playoffs still taking place, the focus has been less on off-season moves and more on taking a minute to breathe. That is of course, unless you are Kobe Bryant.
Bryant has been attempting to get better after his Achilles surgery. Between his Instagram posts and tweets, fans have been able to see much of his progress. But when it comes to Kobe’s personal life, things are in a tailspin. The drama between him and his mother has been unfolding this past week as Pamela had tried to auction off some of the Mamba’s prized memorabilia. Today, however, a judge has temporarily halted the sale of Bryant’s gear until a hearing can take place to figure out exactly what both parties are going to do. Hopefully things get resolved soon.
Pau Gasol underwent a successful regenerative procedure on his knees and is expected to make a full recovery, with up to three months of healing time. He battled tendonisis in both knees throughout the season, missing eight games in December. Even when Gasol wasn’t missing games, his knee tendinitis was still an issue and affecting his explosiveness. If he returns, Gasol will make 19 million next season. We asked Lakers Nation if they wanted Gasol back for the 2013-2014 season and 83% of you said yes. Pau really has done so much for the fans and city of Los Angeles.
Keep watching to see what player and staff moves take place in the coming months. Summer League will be coming up soon, where the Lakers are certain to test out some new talent. Whatever it may be, Lakers Nation will be here to get through it with you and keep you covered.
