During media day, Mike D’Antoni didn’t have a starting lineup in mind and said that the players would determine that. Over the course of the preseason, many players like Xavier Henry and Shawne Williams exceeded expectations and made the opening day roster.

With the season opener against the Clippers on Tuesday, there were questions regarding  the starting lineup. Today, D’Antoni revealed that Shawne Williams will start at power forward since Chris Kaman has been out for the past week due to a stomach illness. Also, Steve Nash will definitely play despite dealing with a neck injury, but may sit out the following night against Golden State.

After an interesting off-season that featured low expectations from the media, it’ll be a relief to finally see these Lakers on the court again when the real season begins.
