Brandon Ingram: Best Defensive Player For The Lakers?

Injuries haven’t been a major problem for the Los Angeles Lakers as of late. The team has been relatively healthy with no significant concerns until Thursday with rookie forward Brandon Ingram dealing with a knee issue.

According to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters, Ingram is dealing with knee tendinitis changing his status for tomorrow’s game against the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves:

Ingram’s knee issue comes at an unfortunate time for him as he has started to show improvement in all areas of his game. The rookie is looking more and more comfortable on a nightly basis on the floor for the Lakers while beginning to prove he does indeed have a bright future in the NBA.

Despite having his fair share of struggles during his rookie campaign this season, Ingram has come on strong as of late. The Duke product is showing significant progress over the past few weeks with his numbers across the board being on the rise.

Ingram has cracked double digits in the scoring column in eight straight games while showing an improved shooting percentage as well as an aggressive mindset offensively. Ingram has also scored 18 or more points in three of the last four games with 21 points in his last outing against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The 19-year-old has also made a point of it to attack the basket and rather than getting bullied physically at the rim. He’s been finishing more often than not on his drives and seems to be flourishing offensively despite the team’s continued struggles overall.
