Lakers News: Byron Scott On Anthony Brown’s Improvement

The Los Angeles Lakers are going through the early stages of a rebuilding process and they will need their young players to embark the next era. The roster has some great young talent and the nucleus of D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. is looking very promising for the franchise. However, Anthony Brown is another player that can be a vital piece to this process if he performs to his potential.

After the win over the Pelicans, head coach Scott spoke to the media about Brown’s recent play and place in the NBA, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Byron Scott on Anthony Brown (finished +14): "I thought he really showed that he is an NBA basketball player, there's no doubt about that."

Brown will be relied on for his defense and three point shooting for the Lakers, but he will need more consistency moving forward. Although Brown can be relied on to play solid defense on that end of the court, he will need to be more effective shooting the ball if he wants a spot in the rotation.

In the Tuesday night win over the New Orleans Pelicans, Brown finished the game with nine points, four rebounds to go with his plus/minus of +14. Coming off the bench, Brown will not be asked for too much, but if he can play this well on a nightly basis, he will find a place with the Lakers.

Los Angeles will be back in action on Thursday night when the team pays a visit to the Golden State Warriors in the Bay Area.
