As the Los Angeles Lakers return from the All-Star Break to finish out the remainder of the season, head coach Byron Scott will be doing some experimenting to see which of his players are continuing to improve and are worth keeping around.

Scott recently said that he will be making another lineup change soon and one possibility involves inserting Nick Young into the starting lineup according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Scott says he’s considering (not set in stone), Nick Young in the starting lineup, when he does decide to make a lineup change (not tonight)

— Serena Winters (@SerenaWinters) February 20, 2015

While he is considering that move, there is no set timetable as to when any change to the starting lineup will be made according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News:

Scott reiterated he hasn’t made up mind and indicated uncertainty when he would make lineup changes. So starters the same for now

The insertion of Young with the starters could be something that could help Young and the team as a whole. The Lakers struggle to score and the current starters have no one capable of creating their own shot consistently.

Young hasn’t had the best season, but he is still capable of getting baskets and the Lakers need him to turn things around if they plan on making any kind of positive noise down the stretch of this season.

Byron Scott has a difficult task in getting an undermanned, injured Lakers team to compete every night and he will exhaust all options in figuring out which lineups are most beneficial.
