Well, it’s official. Cox Communications has launched Time Warner Sportsnet and Time Warner Deportes, which is great news for Lakers fans who have Cox as their cable provider.

Here’s part of the press release by Time Warner:

EL SEGUNDO, CA & ATLANTA, GA (November 7, 2012) – Starting today, Cox Communications customers in California and Las Vegas will have access to Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes. These networks are the local TV homes for Los Angeles Lakers, LA Galaxy and Los Angeles Sparks games, as well as in-depth, dedicated, team-focused programming.

Cox customers also will have access to Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes programming online and on mobile devices in the future.

“We’re happy to partner with Cox Communications to bring Lakers, Galaxy and Sparks fans closer to their teams than they ever have been before,” said Dan Finnerty, Senior Vice President, Time Warner Cable Sports. “Virtually every fan in our territory now has a television option to watch the teams they love on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes.”

With Cox Cable (along with AT&T, Charter, and FIOS) now out of the way, there is one final network that hasn’t made a deal with Time Warner yet. DirecTV is still not on board yet and there’s a sizable population that has that provider. Hopefully, they don’t have to wait much longer for both parties to strike a deal.
