As reported earlier, Earl Clark is suffering from a sore foot and underwent an MRI this morning.

Lakers fans collectively held their breath as Clark has been a bright spot for the Lakers this season and the rest of the front line is banged up.

Lakers Nation can now take a sigh of relief as there’s some good news (not much of that this season, injury wise, huh?), as it appears Clark has no structural damage and will play tonight. Here’s the scoop directly from the Los Angeles Lakers via Twitter (@Lakers):

The X-ray, MRI & CT scan on Earl Clark all came back negative this morning. He has a sore right foot & WILL play tonight vs. PHX. #GoLakers

Although Earl Clark is averaging 8.1 points and 6.3 rebounds on the season, he is averaging 12.3 points and 9.3 rebounds since his breakout game against the San Antonio Spurs on January 9 (which was 18 games ago).

The Lakers will look to exact revenge on the Phoenix Suns at home tonight, after seemingly collapsing in Phoenix at the start of their seven-game road trip, which began at the end of January.

They will certainly be happy to have their young, versatile forward in the lineup.
