Lakers News: ESPN Ranks Kobe Bryant As 25th Best Player

Kobe NBA RankNBA Rank is a part of the ESPN Forecast that the company has been conducting for the last few years. NBA Rank attempts to accurately rank every player in the NBA with it’s panel of experts ranking players on a scale of 1-10.

Last season, Kobe Bryant finished sixth in the NBA Rank, which was respectable considering that he was going into the year at 34-years-old and a lot of younger players have begun taking the reigns as some of the best in the NBA and competing for titles.

This year, instead of ranking players by looking at how they performed in the previous season, the NBA Rank looked to predict how well players will perform in the upcoming season — and Bryant took a significant drop. Bryant dropped 19 spots from last season, largely due to the fact that he ruptured his Achilles at the end of last season and no one really knows how he’s going to perform when he gets back.

Despite the reason behind his rank, Bryant is likely to take it as a slight to his ability, especially considering he wasn’t exactly thrilled when ESPN predicted that the Lakers would finish 12th in the Western Conference this season.

While the rank is fascinating, Bryant’s response could provide for some real entertainment.
