Lakers News Feed: Huge Win Over Celtics & What A Trade With Cavaliers Could Look Like

The Los Angeles Lakers picked up a massive win over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, so it’s only appropriate that we start the LN News feed on that topic. It wasn’t always pretty, but the Lakers walked away with the victory after the final buzzer, which is what matters.

Kyle Kuzma was absolutely monstrous for Los Angeles in what was easily his best performance of the month. In a nationally televised game, he certainily turned some heads and won a lot of new fans.

Jordan Clarkson continued his hot streak as well, controlling the tempo for the Lakers and hitting timely baskets. Free-agent-to-be Julius Randle carried most of the load in the paint for L.A., bulldozing his way to 14 points and 14 rebounds.

The Lakers have now won three in a row and will head out on a five-game road trip that kicks off on Friday against the Chicago Bulls.

That wasn’t the only news that had fans buzzing, however. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that the Lakers have had trade discussions with the Cleveland Cavaliers. While Windhorst did not specifically mention which players would have been involved in a hypothetical deal, we use a little bit of NBA math and logic to figure out who the primary pieces likely would have been.

Ultimately, Windhorst was attempting to use the Lakers’ talks with Cleveland as a way to illustrate just how desperate the slumping Cavs have become. As they normally would not consider strengthening the Lakers ability to chase LeBron James this summer.

Finally, we wrap things up by discussing Paul George’s All-Star snub. Some are convinced that this may be a good thing for the Lakers, who hope to land George (and ideally James as well) next summer.

All that and more on this show, just click the player above.
